Ad 2. With Level 5 autonomous passenger vehicles out of reach for years, some say decades, Level 4 (autonomous out on ‘the open road’ and manual and/or assisted mode within a city’s outer electronic markers) may be the best bet for the foreseeable future.

Ad 3. Boxy car design not only means an unnecessarily heavy build and a higher demand on the grid, there’s a less ideal scanning and imaging of the vehicle’s surroundings.

A driverless vehicle can be set up like a 360 degree vision motorcycle helmet. Round-off and sloping contours reduce fragmented imaging. Yup, this is about a Next-Gen passenger EV, not a delivery bot. Still…
