Cars will always be part of our lives. Better have them adapt, preferably lower footprint and weight so the industry will be able to bring affordable electric cars (without the need for subsidies), achieve driverless and have them share the road with cyclists. Two pictures illustrate what I am hinting at. Left the 405 Fwy: 99 percent of the cars are already wider than their (usually) single commuter driver is tall, the lanes they’re using are twice as wide as those cars.
