Denmark and the Netherlands are countries where cyclists are an accepted phenomenon. Separate bicycle lanes help to distinguish them in traffic. Foremost, mentality needs to change in countries where most people‘s lives are dictated by the car. A cyclist’s transit footprint is optimally small, and cycling is good for a person’s health. The car could do with a considerable footprint reduction too, btw.
