Elon Musk’s idea reminds me a bit of Trump’s idea to nuke hurricanes. Their success have made them think they know it all. With the foreseeable technology, we will not be able to set foot on Mars within the next 3–4 decades. Instead of spending trillions of dollars into a first Mars colony, we better put more effort into keeping Mothership Earth habitable.
