Food for thought. Information technology went from cumbersome and bulky to lightweight, sleek, versatile. From desk computer and telephone to notebook and smartphone. Personal Mobility is transitioning from already cumbersome and bulky (SUV and truck trend) to full-fledged overweight and wide, because of all the batteries... Can’t we do something? Yes, we can. Bring a smaller EV. The less it weighs, the lower the kWh intake and the batteries need to be. Without compromising of course, even improve safety. In short, introduce a car equivalent of the smartphone. Below: what we need is a rethinking and reformatting of the car, a post-Tesla EV. What’s frustrating the electrification / zero-emission effort is that the industry is combining the truck/SUV trend and battery power. The Ford F150 has a 800 kg battery pack, that’s 8–10 times the weight of the driver, usually its only occupant.
