'Funny' thing is that many Europeans sympatize (me included) with the British fear of losing identity. I mean: when I see Salvage Hunters' Drew Pritchard visit villages and rummage through antique markets and residences, I love to see and hear him talk about stuff made in Britain. However, most Europeans do consider Britain cutting itself loose from the market that's geographically that close, is foolish. And there it is, in a nutshell: the EU as a predominantly (socio-)economic construct, that only a small minority of Europeans really digs.
