Generally, Hollywood movies are about dire and/or controversial situations that make white people look good. Great example is Mississippi Burning from the British director Alan Parker. Commendable since it makes all of us aware of injustice that still exists today. An easy way out because it is human to settle for feeling good about yourself that you care.
