Have robo-cars held standby in giant Pez dispensers? Daimler’s Smart division already did so, but then for sales purposes. Again, the smaller and lighter the car… etc.etc. Interestingly, a dispenser’s ‘real estate’ footprint doesn’t have to exceed three conventional-size street-level parking spaces, the dispenser itself of course could be pre-fab. Cars might even be banned from historical city center streets. They tend to spoil city scenery. Car-dispensers may form the core of new apartment buildings; it means that boarding a vehicle takes place right from your own apartment. Recharging the vehicle’s batteries and/or feedback to the grid of unused battery energy will be a breeze too of course.
