I agree that the Microlino could be seen as the still missing successor to an iconic classic car, like the VW Beetle, Austin Mini and Fiat 500 were. But the newer versions all gave a certain twist to them, albeit not all of them that successfully. But to do an almost carbon copy of the old Isetta, is not only a missed opportunity, the Microlino is more expensive (up to 70 percent) and less practical (front-door) than the Fiat Topolino and the Citroen Ami.
