I luv Goodfellas and Raging Bull. Taxi Driver was just epic. The long overdue Oscar, awarded for The Departed, misplaced however. Scorsese is a crafty director in many respects, not a truly visionary filmmaker though. There’s explicitness in his work up the ying yang, hardly any ambivalence. In that sense he can’t really be misunderstood. Hate his cliché use of music scores to spice up certain scenes, like the Rolling Stones’ Gimme Shelter.
