I miss elements (in your article) such as natural curiosity, associative thinking, the ability to draw lines between different fields of knowledge, feel for the bigger picture, having an analytical mind, necessary focus. Social media and smartphones IMO are killing in all these respects. Internet isn't. ‘We’ do create a lot of specialists, highly proficient each in their respective fields. There are already way too many who are good at staring on their own few square inches of expertise though. ‘We’ need more outside-the-box thinking.
