I was watching Pawn Stars yesterday. Rick Harrison told the guy who tried to sell him an item from Douglas MacArthur what an amazing life this general had and what accomplishments he established. The guy answered: "Yeah, he was a true patriot". Isn't that implied? What other reason is there to the qualification than a nod that the one who made the qualification "must be a true patriot" himself too? Why do so many Americans have so little self-reflection that they feel they need constant confirmation that they belong to that extra special breed that loves their country?
