If Straubel is really serious about zero-emission personal mobility, then he ought to concentrate on a Next-Gen electric vehicle, one that can/should be sold in much larger quantities, and that does not depend on EV tax credits to do so. The industry has yet to: 1. Bring an affordable electric car 2. Smart use 3. Solve gridlock 4. Realize self-driving 5. Integrate. Only the next phase, the electric car as an appliance-on-wheels, can take care of those.
