In retrospect you might say that all major strides over the past decade are based on the interactivity made possible through the internet, an invention done decades ago. I am talking social media, smartphone, global mail order. So many authors write on medium about visionaries, true innovators and great leaders. I’d like to read about bright ideas that so far haven’t ‘made it’. A lot has to do with timing, enabling, networking, embedding, having the right ambiance where ideas can surface, materialize, thrive, and with forging strategic partnerships. Don’t estimate that what has established itself will in turn be hostile towards anything that threatens its newly acquired market position. It’s exactly what people have against former core innovator Apple! Will be difficult though. How to identify what has dissolved into thin air?
