Is there an unmistakable pattern? One would think so, when observing one of UK’s proudest industries, motoring. First, the UK lost, sold off all of its car brands to foreign investors and automakers over the past three decades. Can you imagine this happening with German brands? No? Me neither. Now the car manufacturing itself will disappear. Already some sort of Brexit deal would be a serious damper on investments. But a No-Deal Brexit, IMO inevitable with Boris Johnson, will be disastrous. Ironic is that a British major stood at the resurrection of Volkwagen just after WW2, nowadays one of Germany’s industrial powerhouses. Irony Nr. 2 is your picture of the BAC TSR2, which should at least bring the British to question that extra-special relationship with the U.S., particularly under an “America 1st” president. The Americans sabotaged the BAC supersonic bomber project, something similar happened to Canada’s AVRO delta-wing bomber project a couple of years earlier. Didn’t the Canadians cancel their order for the JSF?
