It sounds cartoonesk, but it looks there's truth to the motto "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist". Maybe not that cartoonesk, since there is a certain appeal to the bad guy, the sinner that comes clean. Only this one is out to destroy, not to redeem himself.
