Mercedes says that it expects that all those touchscreens in car cockpits will ultimately disappear to make way for augmented reality glasses based controls. Food for thought: not only will this make cars navigating traffic and road safety dependent on technology that will need to work a 100% all the time, but I wonder when people and safety authorities will start protesting against this sort of developments, and what ophthalmologists will say about people constantly peering through hi-tech glasses.
