Modern cars tend to isolate the driver from what’s taking place around the vehicle. The view from inside the vehicle of everything happening outside has become worse over the past decades, because of the way cars are designed. Plus the on-board technology distracts; it keeps the driver from focusing on the driver experience. We ALL know this. Problem is, and the whole emissions scandal proves this, is that the EU is very much influenced by the industry’s most powerful lobby: car makers. Remember how we were promised by the EU Commission that it would look into the higher fatality rate of SUV-related accidents, in particular smaller cars that collided with SUVs?… That was conveniently shoved under the rug.
