No European thinks that the EU is perfect. There is a lot of calculated self-interest involved with being an EU member, which makes the One Europe ideal pretty hollow, and an ever closer union not something to strive for. But the utter hate and detest the Brits are displaying surprises them all. What’s the reason for this? Has the EU become politicians’ and the media’s favorite punching ball in the UK? Something like: when you can’t agree among yourselves, you can always blame Brussels? Since no real expert believes in the UK’s so-called prosperous future post-Brexit (what does that say of the ERG Tories?), you can count on that the recession will decimate the Tories.
