People lose focus, no longer concentrate on what truly matters in their lives, and think that keeping up social media and working on their exposure has become their daily job. It affects their performance and the job they were hired to do. All those hours youngsters spend on social media (on the BBC they recently admitted that they were spending up to 10 hours a day) distort their sense of reality, keeping them from socializing vis à vis. And I haven’t even begun to discuss the poison that’s fed to them, what to think, like, hate, etc. Facebook users have in fact created their own Truman Show (the milestone movie with Jim Carrey), in which they have become spectator-consumers as well as subject-victims who are constantly followed, fed and manipulated by some big puppet master in the sky… Ed Harris in the movie, Mark Zuckerberg in ‘real’ life.
