Really? Labeling someone an ‘architect’ or ‘visionary’ says more of the one who labels, who’s perceiving. Evidently, there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done in a world that does not exactly overflow with creative solutions. Two of Musk’s I would like to see in a greater perspective.
- As long as we’re still dependent on the type of propulsion we will still be deploying in the next couple of decades, it is way cheaper, safer, more productive, etc. to take much better care of Mother Ship Earth than to work towards the ‘rapture-flavored’ colonizing of Mars.
- What Tesla did and still does is replace the fossil-fuel based engine for electric drive in cars which are pretty conventional: too big, too heavy, and still polluting. Ever realized that a conventional Fiat 500 is greener than a Tesla Model 3 which gets his ‘juice’ from a conventional power plant? Tesla I consider an EV 2.0 (in the beginning of the 20th century there was the promise of the ‘EV 1.0’). We need to move on, we need an ‘EV 3.0’.
Respect for what Musk accomplished? Yes, of course.
