Silicon Valley has become a label which manages to draw investment simply based on its aura that it “holds the future of things to come”. At the same time we should be stunned by the wishful thinking that is going on and the obvious lack of outside-the-box thinkers who can make a difference. Do people invest in Uber because of its vision or has it come to represent some sort of pyramid investment in itself — buy shares because others do too?
