Since 60 percent of the world’s electricity is still generated by burning fossils, you’d think that there would be some sort of final energy efficiency stage to offset this simple fact. In principle EVs should be a lot smaller to compensate for the battery’s intrinsic low energy density too. This, despite the EV’s spectacular higher efficiency (MPGe) compared to the old ICE car. A Tesla Model 3 has a 500 kg battery pack to take it as far as a conventional car with less than 50 kg of petrol can. My plea has always been to turn EVs into life-size toy cars so to speak. A reformat (lightweighting and downsizing) would help to make it drive itself as well. More: https://www.docdroid.net/osG0Ykk/reduce-vehicle-mass-key-to-curbing-climate-change-boost-ev-sales-pdf
