"The batteries in popular electric cars today achieve just 250 Wh/kg"... From this to "Battery500, a consortium of university and institutes researching higher-density batteries, aims to produce a density of 500 Wh/kg" is merely a doubling of performance. I thought that today's batteries have an energy density of about 1 kWh per 6 kg.
