The cultural, even political impact of the Top Gun movie cannot be underestimated. That became clear when Bush Jr. did his Top Gun flavored deck landing on the USS Abraham Lincoln, May 2003, to declare that the Iraq War was over. No better example of Hollywood imagery larger than life taking over ‘our’ sense of reality. I wonder what Top Gun 2 will ‘give us’…
