To have EVs with battery packs that outweigh the average 1.2 occupant 5–7 times over, is not the answer. Teslas are still too much the same old cars, but then with the old ICE swapped for electric drive. With approx. two-third of all electricity in the U.S. generated by burning fossil fuels, Teslas are still way too much carbon-based. You might see them as an EV 2.0. What we need, is an EV 3.0 — smarter, sleeker and weighing considerably less. The demand per EV on the electricity grid, the need for rare metals to put together the batteries, etc. will be substantially brought down. Next challenge: how to ‘format’ this into a vehicle that is still comfortable, safe and appealing? Cheers, Ralph
