Too bad. Companies like Aptera, Arcimoto and Elio give three-wheelers an iffy reputation. Mainly because the founders set out to bring a streetlegal passenger vehicle wihout having to meet the stringent NCAP criteria. Which is a shame, and a great illustration that engineers can be such a shortsighted, unimaginitive bunch of people that you shouldn't be hiring them (solely). IMO, triangle-platformed (like I prefer to call them) vehicles may well be the ONLY vehicle format that manages to tackle a couple of challenges simultaneously. 1. Affordable electro-mobility (the lower the weight and drag, the smaller the battery pack can be). 2. Road safety, particularly towards mure vulnerable road users. 3. Autonomous drive. 4. Narrowness (a narrow track), therefore the car's ability to lean (bank) during cornering is a prerequisite. However, those idiots from Aptera, Arcimoto and Elio use a wide front-wheel stance to deal with lateral forces. 5. Change the seating layout yields NCAP safety for three. 6. Even modular UAM. Cheers, Ralph
