Too big to fail (referring to Waymo), too big to self-drive (referring to the MPV Waymo is using) and operate profitably? I think so. Here’s why.

The bigger the vehicle, the more road space it occupies, the less likely it will be able to evade other road users, also the less committed the person who is behind the steering wheel. A boxy profile has more blind spots that need covering by the on-board driverless tech and the driver. Nu such difficulties with a vehicle that has a more fluent shape and sleek footprint.
