Whatever the outcome, chances are that doing business and trading from both sides of the Channel will become more complex… and costlier when tariffs (import to manufacture stuff in the UK, import when manufactured stuff gets shipped over to the EU). No better excuse for foreign OEMs and investors to transfer production and jobs from the UK to EU countries.

The irreconcilable differences around Brexit remind me a bit of the 1989 movie The War Of The Roses, with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner: “There are two dilemmas that rattle the human skull — How do you hang onto someone who won’t stay? And how do you get rid of someone who won’t go?”
